where do we even start?

new friends fest was fucking amazing. thank you to everyone who saw us bright & early, everyone who bought a tape or a record, everyone that said something kind to us—we love all of you so much. em moore of punknews.org wrote this glowing passage about our set:
"Right at 6 pm, Boxcutter hit the stage in the Death Room and proceeded to hand us our asses for the next 30 minutes. The band kicked out songs from their 2022 EP it’s more like embracing and from their recently released split with Treehouse of Horror and Please Don’t Crash, What Good Does Getting Angry Do?, with an infectious energy that had the crowd dancing and moshing within minutes. Lead vocalist and guitarist Toast’s vocal delivery was absolutely phenomenal. Her screams were visceral and full of so much emotion. Several times during the set, she jumped off the stage and continued playing in the middle of the crowd without missing a beat. Along with Toast’s vocals and guitar, Faith’s deep bass tone, Kai’s frenetic drumming, and Banjo Ryan’s beautifully haunting cello created a layered sound that compelled you to move as close to the stage as possible. In between songs Toast spoke about the ongoing Metro workers strike, the vileness of Doug Ford (especially when it comes to the move towards privatization of healthcare in Ontario), the importance of fighting for trans rights, and the urgent need for all of us to organize, mobilize, and fight for what we believe in. At the end of their set Toast fell to the floor with her guitar on top of her as feedback filled the room, having given her all to the crowd. To say Boxcutter kicked off the weekend with a bang would be an understatement."
a thousand shouts go out to all of the amazing bands & wonderful people we met last weekend (there's legitimately too many to name) for making it the absolute highlight of our first year as an actual band. there were innumerable moments that shifted our lives forever, but it can't be overstated how much pg.99 alone made for the set of a lifetime. <3

kai got some photos from the last few shows (including ostraca + .gif from god @ whinerack) that we'll post some time tomorrow, probably. p.d.c. & treehouse both had to drop our formal record release show at the last second due to illness (apparently not due to COVID—thankfully everyone's feeling better already), but wolf fang & waste youth still kicked out the jams with us to make up for it.
