mtl trip + kingston show

first trip of the "tour" was reallllly reallllly eventful.

tldr: car broke down, repairs will cost us thousands. we made a gofundme if you want to help us out.

we originally booked a mtl date but had to cancel because of financial reasons/some stuff fell through. but we decided to go to mtl anyway and crash with our friends kelsie and mei. our favourite poet-in-residence t came along for the ride too. we spent the entire morning packing the fuck out of the boxxcar.

immediately, we ran into car troubles a bit after we passed bowmanville.

the car overheated, and we spent about an hour sitting in the warm summer sun with the heater all the way up and the fans blowing on max with a pack of ice on top of the radiator. then, like an idiot, toast tried to top up the radiator fluid because she thought it cooled down. absolutely not. it geysered, covered the entire engine bay and soaked all of toast's clothes. toast's got radiator fluid in her mouth. we started taking breaks every time the engine overheated.

at some point after all this, we got back on the road and immediately had to pull over because everything overheated again. we sat on the side of the road eating filipino food (shout out manila sentro) and waiting for the car to cool.

got to montréal and faith immediately slapped a boxxy sticker on a bus stop.

toast and mei fought in the new boxxy shirts. toast won by omoplata. 

we got some thrifting done, ate some good-ass food and chilled all weekend in montréal before headin' to kingston.

p.d.c. keeping us posted

as if things couldn't get any worse, the car overheated again, but this time it started pluming white smoke out of the exhaust. we finally called it quits about three minutes away from the venue. treehouse and p.d.c. both came clutch, picked us up, and drove us to cobourg after the show.

we crashed at kai's mom's place (thank u tita!!!) and we grilled and had a lil' beach day. faith and toast went back early.
