overdue tour diary w/ treehouse of horror.

i hope everyone got some rest this past week.

of course, as you may know, christmas was cancelled this year in bethlehem—there is no rest when it comes to resisting occupation, and there is no cause for celebration in the midst of a genocide. from the river to the fucking sea: free palestine, now and forever.

that being said: thanks to everyone who came and saw us at orwell a few weeks ago, sincerely. i don't have the hard number yet but i'm pretty sure we raised upwards of $1,200 for the personal care banks. there was a bootleg tape made for the gig featuring every band on the bill (except for not-so-secret low-key guests nanette) including 2 brand new terry songs that you can still grab here; all proceeds go towards the personal care bank.

we also finally got around to finishing up the tour tape re-press; it's got a new cover printed via risograph (as usual) that we think is super cute. get one of those on our bandcamp or via maraming records and they'll be shipped out once i'm back from philippines in about a week. we only made 30 and we've already sold most of them, so perhaps don't wait if you're feeling it—treehouse's side is killer and we're probably not pressing this again.

our first time to driving to kingston with a car that works (it's a rental, don't get too excited). just like it did in july, playing the church rules and i wish we had something like it in toronto. trying to build a scene from literally the ground up is no small feat and no static is legitimately doing god's by trying. thanks to mikey + company for setting everything up and being the best pals.

this was maybe the craziest show we've done at home so far (maybe usurped by the one we just did)—orwell on a perfect night is getting very hard to top as far as live music goes in the city rn. the energy in that room was unbelievable and every band fucking crushed it. thanks to everyone that pitted all night, 1000xgn for coming all the way from st. catharines (peep their new EP, featuring one of my favourite songs of the year), cüm cåuldrøn (now known as tachyon) for being the sweetest ever, treehouse for being the best, and everyone that came out and fucked with us even a little bit.

feels very wild and cool to have done our first actual tour (3 days in a row out of town is the bare minimum to me imo so it COUNTS) and have it not be a bust but actually amazing.

we're so tired.

sorry for no blogging this month; november kicked our collective ass. we'll make a looooong post about last month's tour complete with photos when we get a second to breathe.

until then, here's what we've been doing: in between more personal crises than we can count, we sold the last couple copies of our tour tape we did with treehouse (cassette-only, small re-press coming soon), played a low-key gig in hamilton (flyer below for posterity), and had our newmarket show cancelled (we got bumped off for karaoke, fuck the lion pub & grill). barrie didn't even come to fruition. now that this month is finally over, though, we're gearing up for our last show of the year in a little over a week with a murderer's row of best buds—terry green, wolf fang fist, sundowner, and maybe 1 more just for kicks. it's a dogs with hobbies show, which means that 100% of all proceeds will be going towards the personal care bank; you can buy advance tickets here.

sorry we haven't been posting much lately. between school, work, sickness, housing insecurity, and all sorts of other trash, october has been nothing short of absurd for us. we had to drop our show with hexis the day of, but we did get to play with lower automation & pretty mouth later that week (thanks to jesse for putting that together with kai).
